Yup, you read that right – Rage Against The Machine and Cypress Hill supergroup Prophets Of Rage are making their debut at Rock am Ring. Also in line are local German madhouse Rammstein. Seriously, there cannot be such a massive spectacle of metal happening that does not involve the Du Hast rockers. American bands, Five Finger Death Punch and Alter Bridge are also in line, as well as Armenians System Of A Down. Rock am Ring not only celebrates rock in a big way, but also involves other genres that get the crowd going. That’s why rapper Macklemore will be hitting the stage in 2017.

Rock am Ring in the Past

Rock am Ring was started up in 1985 as a one-time show paying tribute to an up-and-coming genre like rock back in 1985. However, the show was so popular, they just had to bring it back. Over the years, a number of international artists like U2, The Cure, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Megadeth, Bob Dylan, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Slipknot, Radiohead, Iron Maiden, Jay Z, Judas Priest, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Bullet For My Valentine, Alice In Chains – name the band and they were probably there.

Next year, the double rock event – Rock am Ring and Rock im Park will take place from June 2-4, 2017 at Nuremberg. Visit the Official Rock am Ring website for more details and book your tickets soon!
