Popular Mexican musical duo Rodrigo y Gabriela are gearing up for the release of their upcoming album, titled ‘9 Dead Alive’ on April 28, 2014. The acoustic maestros’ new record has been produced by Rod & Gab at their studio in Mexico, while mixing was done by Andrew Scheps – who has previously worked with superstars like Black Sabbath, Adele, Lana Del Ray and Metallica – in Los Angeles. Before the release of ‘9 Dead Alive’, the ‘Tamacun’ musicians are set to debut their first single, titled ‘The Soundmaker’.
The duo’s upcoming album will see them playing face to face, guitar versus guitar and as always, their music will be full of rhythmic invention and energy. ‘9 Dead Alive’ was recorded in late summer 2013, at their Pacific Coast hideaway and Rodrigo y Gabriela’s new record manages to capture the spontaneity, vibe and warmth of two amazing musicians who are jamming together. Their talent and presence is featured in 9 new songs filled with elegance and desire.
‘The Soundmaker’ will be the first single to be released from ‘9 Dead Alive’ and the opening track is absolutely captivating and features extraordinary guitar play. The new, highly anticipated single also manages to represent everything that is special and wonderful about the duo’s music.
Rodrigo y Gabriela have scheduled performances all over the world and will be back in the UK in May 2014, for 2 sold-out shows in London, on May 20, 2014 and May 21, 2014 at the Royal Albert Hall.
