British band Rolling Stones have announced plans to do a tour on their 50th Anniversary. The band will be going live at London’s O2 Arena on November 25 and 29 2012, and will be playing at the Prudential Centre in Newark, New Jersey, on December 13 and 15, 2012.
The possibility of the tour to mark the band’s 50th Anniversary, has been doing the rounds for many years. The tickets for the UK concerts will go on sale on October 19, 2012 and the tickets for the New Jersey tickets will go on sale on October 26, 2012.
Pre-ticket sales for the UK concerts are already available for between £106 and £406 inclusive of tickets fee. The band made the announcement of the tour on YouTube by posting a video and said, “You must have guessed this was coming.” The news of the tour has come after the band released their new single ‘Doom and Gloom’.
The shows will mark the first live performances by Keith Richards, Jagger, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood for five years. The band will also be releasing a repackaged greatest hits collection known as ‘GRRR!’. The repackaged album will be releasing on November 12, 2012 and will feature the new songs ‘Doom and Gloom’ and ‘One More Shot’.
