Selena Gomez Puts Tour On Hold To Handle Her “Depression”

Pop princess and former Disney star, Selena Gomez seemed to be having a fantastic year. Her album, Revival was a big hit among fans and she played her prominent role in the Taylor Swift girl squad. But what would come as a genuine surprise to everyone, is that Selena suddenly made an announcement that she’s taking a “break”, and did so through one of the most unusual sources – People magazine. Even though she’s bitched about the tabloid in the past, she has taken the low road and spoken through their voice to reach all and sundry. In her official statement, the Hands To Myself singer said:

“As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways. I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be the side effects of lupus which can present their own challenges.”

A “source” close to Selena was adamant that the personal issues she’s facing has nothing to do with any form of abuse or addiction, including to Justin Bieber. Said the source, “She decided to clear her calendar for the year in order to have this be her priority for future happiness and didn’t want to leave any promoters at bay. There is little known about this disease “lupus”, though Selena had announced last year that she had to go for chemotherapy to get the sickness out of her system. By doing a general Google search about lupus, you get to know that there are symptoms which are extreme on the body and hard to ignore: chest pain, joint pain, fatigue, fever, hair loss swollen lymph nodes and skin rashes.
