Metal icons Slipknot was struck by tradegy in the month of May 2010 when their bassist Paul Gray overdosed on morphine accidentally. The band has never played since he died and will be playing for the first time since his death this summer.

The replacement for Paul Gray will be a formed member of the band Donnie Steele who left the band in the year 1996. He will rejoin the band for the summer tour. Slipknot will headlining this years Sonishphere festival which will be held in the month of July. Apart from this the band is also slated to perform at other shows across Europe.
The band released an official statement on their website.
“Donnie was great friends with Paul and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate his memory than with someone who was there at the beginning.”
“Donnie was in the band at the very beginning, and rather than get an outsider, we thought it would be a fitting tribute to Paul to play with someone from within the family.”
“The eight of us are looking forward to being onstage again and honouring Paul’s legacy with our families in Europe and Brazil this summer.”
