Incarcerated former rap mogul Suge Knight has pulled a wild card for the yet unsolved murder of Tupac Shakur. Though his own name tops the list of prime suspects, he now claims that he knows who was behind the hit-and-run death of the rapper, while still maintaining his own innocence. According to Suge Knight, his ex wife, Sharitha Golden was involved in the untimely death of the rapper.
Suge Knight, who was once the owner of Death Row Records that had signed on Tupac Shakur in the ’90s, is now in jail. Through years and years of murder, assault, robbery and failing probation charges, he now languishes in prison with failing health and a huge bail amount. Death Row Records has gone bankrupt, thanks to the high legal fees for bailing out Knight. From prison, Suge Knight absolves himself of all possible crimes, and lays the blame squarely on the shoulders of his ex. Death Row Records’ former security chief, Reggie White Jr. has also been named by Knight. The whole story doled out by him is that he was meant to be the target that night, but instead Tupac was slain.
Suge Knight is currently in prison for an unrelated murder on the set of rapper movie Straight Outta Compton. Tupac Shakur was one of the biggest rappers of the ’90s, becoming one of the best-selling artists of all time. His incomparable contribution to the genre of rap has made him a poster child for the movement that would cement this genre as part of mainstream music. Shakur was traveling in a car along with Suge Knight after watching a Mike Tyson match. He was fatally shot by a assailants in a van and was in a coma for a few days. He died of severe internal bleeding and a cardiac arrest due to the gunshot wounds on September 13, 1996.
