The 2012 season of the reality-TV show X Factor reached its finale on December 20, 2012. The US-based competition was won by Tate Stevens, who was a part of music mogul L.A Reid’s ‘Over 25’ team. The 37-year-old was over the moon when he won the competition, much to the delight of his mentor Reid.
Stevens is a father of 2 and lives in Missouri, USA. The road worker has had an eventful journey to the top of the competition and said that he would like to thank God for the win. He went on to thank his friends and family members as well, saying that it was the best day of his life.
Carly Rose Sonenclar, who was in Britney Spears’ team was the other contestant battling it out for top honors along with Fifth Harmony, who were a part of Simon Cowell’s team. The prize money for the competition amount to a USD 5 million recording contract.
L.A Reid has guided Stevens and told the singer that he deserved to win the competition and that he was proud to work with him as well. He also went on to congratulate Stevens on behalf of all the judges in the competition as well.
Simon Cowell showed support for his contestants ‘Fifth Harmony’ as well by saying that people will be seeing and hearing a lot of them in the future as well.
