Yes! It’s that time of the year again when the popularity content of the music industry, aka The Grammy Awards come around to give us some serious competition between our favorite artistes. The 58th Grammy Awards 2016 Are Here!
It started off at the red carpet with the likes of Lady Gaga making an appearance paying tribute to the legendary David Bowie, one day after photographs emerged of her getting a tattoo of the legend on her ribcage. The entrances made by some of the biggest names in the industry was just as sparkly and spectacular as one could imagine.
Performances for the night were also on a whole different level – Lady Gaga killed it with her rendition of Bowie’s famous songs, Adele was at her glorious best, though technical issues played havoc with the audio part, Demi Lovato payed tribute to the legendary Lionel Richie for his contribution to the industry and many more memorable performances. Not to be forgotten is Kendrick Lamar who has been on the radar for the past year and was also a nominee for Album Of The Year, along with The Weeknd, who also performed for the night. Rihanna was one big star who we missed this year, though reports emerged that she is suffering from bronchitis and was advised by the doctor to rest.
And now…for the winners! No surprise here, but Taylor Swift won Album Of The Year for her 1989. During her speech, he called out Kanye West for his bashing of her through his new release, Famous.Though classy and without taking names, the callout was uncalled for, considering that it shadowed her achievement of being the first and youngest artiste to win Best Album Of The Year 2 times.
