Vevo, the major label owned video partnering company has now spread its wing to start funding videos that will be shared to major video viewing channels and websites, including YouTube.
And the first artist to come under the Vevo wing is the British singer, Jorja Smith. Highly endorsed by Canadian rapper, Drake, the talented singer will now be able to showcase her art through the video channel. She is the first of this year’s Dscvr Ones to Watch artists, and they has already produced her first official video for the single, Beautiful Little Fools. Senior manager of music and talent at Vevo, James Moodie has said of the talented Jorja Smith, “It was clear from the outset of meeting Jorja that she has an amazing talent. It’s been a privilege to be part of her journey since, lending a hand to support her vision.”

Jorja is also being backed by Drake, who posted a short video of her EP, Project 11 on his Instagram account back in February.
Beautiful Little Fools is directed by Hector Dockrill and was shot at London’s Rivoli Ballroom. Jorja Smith will now be seen reguarly throughy Vevo original shows and programs, and has already performed for the brand at the Vevo Dscvr Live show.
Vevo’s Dscvr Ones To Watch is an initiative to help produce upcoming artists that are popular, but need a promotional boost from the video company that already has millions of followers. Those who were in the initial list included artists like: Creeper, K.I.D., Young M.A., Stanaj, Kiah Victoria, among others.
