After battling with over two years of alcohol addiction, American singer Whitney Houston was found dead at the Beverly Hills Hotel suite on February 11, 2012 -just on the eve of the 2012 Grammy Awards. The detectives are now investigating the death of the ‘I’m Every Woman’ singer with the theory that she had accidentally drowned in the bath after taking some prescription pills and drinking heavily over the past two days. The investigations are currently on and it will be weeks before the exact cause of death will be determined.

The 48-year -old singer was found dead in the hotel in Los Angeles just hours before she was supposed to attend a star studded party downstairs. Two bodyguards and a hairdresser of the singer discovered her body in the bath and attempted revive her.

The paramedics were called immediately and CPR was performed on her. At 3:55 pm, the ‘Greatest Love of All’ singer was declared dead. Some prescription drugs were found in the suite, but they did not include any illegal drugs.

An autopsy is due, which will help in discovering if Houston drowned or fell asleep in the bath tub. Some of the eyewitnesses said that Whitney had erratic behaviour since the past two days, and allegedly wandered aimlessly in the hotel lobby wearing mismatching clothes. The singer was also attending the rehearsals of the 2012 Grammy Awards and was noticed to have been sweating profusely and smelled alcohol.

Nevetheless, the Grammy Awards night saw a respectful tribute to the singer’s untimely passing away.
